Synopsis:

Wang Cuihua transmigrated to novel, “The Devil’s Favored Concubine”, and becomes the villain, the evil concubine Yu Wanyin, who was originally supposed to be defeated by the protagonist. In order to protect herself, she joins hands with the tyrant Xiahou Dan, who is also a transmigrator, to survive in the alien world. After many battles of intelligence and force, the two successfully prevented the tragic ending of the country’s demise as originally planned in the book and became wise rulers.

What I Like

The setting of this donghua is actually a very common thing in manhua or manhwa: the heroine transmigrates into a novel and becomes the novel’s vicious female supporting character. But the execution is good so it become a donghua that fun, heartwarming and sweet.
I just like the love story between Yu Wanyin and Xiahou Dan. The way how their relationship progress. They initially form an alliance out of necessity for survival. But as they get along later, trust grow & love bloom. The female protagonist is optimistic, sunny and have a strong will. The male protagonist, Xiahou Dan, was on his limit & almost give up before Yu Wanyin come into his life & ignite his motivation to hold on. I just like this type of story.
Most of the story is about how to survive in the palace. So they must scheme their way out of their trouble. Nothing too clever but sufficiently interesting.
There’s a theme of women support women here.

Tbh I almost drop this donghua because I thought it’s too exaggerated at the start. But after several episodes, it hooked me.
