Synopsis:

What I Like

There’s quite a lot of thing to like from this donghua if you don’t take it too seriously. It features a body swap trope to make the emperor and the empress understand each other. While this trope is not new, the story is sufficiently interesting and the couple is lovely. The empress is the daughter of a general. She’s very strong and skillful in martial art. While the emperor is proficient in literary and management. The emperor choose the empress for her military background where he need strong army to back his reign, but there is distrust between them because the emperor also wary for the empress family’s influence. The main point of this donghua is to the emperor and empress to trust each other without any doubt.
Some side characters are funny and interesting, like the emperor’s little brother, the astrologer, etc.

My Other Comments

Tbh the empress is so talented in military that she win the war for the emperor when she was still in the emperor’s body. It’s a pity that she didn’t become a general and choose to become the empress because of her love for the emperor. They’re very cute as a couple tho so I’m not complaining. But sometimes I feel it try so hard to be a pure love donghua when it’s clear that the emperor has harem 😂. Other thing that I find a bit strange is how can an emperor has so few warrior to protect him. But I guess this was to make the empress more heroic.
