Synopsis:
Having experienced a nuclear winter, humanity is no longer the dominant force in this world. Species mutations and scarce resources create unpredictable crises as the environment and future become increasingly challenging. Humans have built fortified barriers to protect themselves, but many choose to live outside these walls, hunting for survival in the wilderness. The protagonist, Ren Xiaosu, and his younger brother, Yan Liuyuan, are among them. These two brothers, unrelated by blood but bound by a strong will, grow stronger through sheer willpower and awaken superpowers by chance. To survive and protect his family, Ren Xiaosu leaves his town for Jingshan Mountain, encountering attacks from wolves, human-faced insects, and mutated creatures along the way. Will Ren Xiaosu be able to escape these dangers…?

What I Like
- Ren Xiaosu is an interesting guy & I love his relationship with his brother. Although they’re not related by blood, they truly care about each other. The same with Li Xiaoyu. She care about those 2 brothers although they’re not family by blood, becoming a sister-like existence to them. I just like a story of newfound family.
- The story is sufficiently interesting. It makes you want to delve deeper to what actually happening in this donghua. I also think the protagonist’s power, where he can purchase weapons, medicine, etc by collecting “thank you” coin is interesting.
- I generally like the female characters here. I especially like Li Xiaoyu and also Yang Xiaojin. Although Yang Xiaojin hasn’t had much action here.
My Other Comments
- Tbh, the season 1 of The First Order feels more like a prolog. It gives you some glimpse of the world in the story but I feel there’s so much more to explored.
- Actually my first question is … why the title of this donghua is The First Order (or The First Sequence). What does it mean? Is there any other sequence? Or is this related to the power system in the story?
- When I watch the first few episodes, I thought the protagonist’s power come out of nowhere. I’m not sure what triggers it. But then I feel like I don’t need to think too much😂. There’s many story where people just awakened a superpower.
