What I Like
- The story in this donghua is inspired by historical events, although of course it’s fictionalize. It tells the story from the Three Kingdom era, which is fascinating.
- I really like the fight scenes. Not sure how to describe it, but the characters in this donghua are warriors and not some immortal or someone with superpower. So they really clash with their body and skills in wielding weapons. Personally, this make me feel the fight scenes even more exhilarating.
- The story also involves numerous schemes from the 8 geniuses, inspired by 8 brilliant strategist in China. I always like to see a show where I can watch not only physical battle but also the battle of wits.
My Other Comments
Tbh, I really like this donghua that I almost give it a personal rating of Absolute Cinema. But then change it to Must-Watch because it took me quite a long time to finish it. I don’t know how to explain the reason, but it’s probably because this donghua is severely lacking in feminine energy😂. The only prominent woman character here is Xiao Meng, and maybe that girl from Sun clan. I know that it’s unrealistic to expect something like this from story about war 😂, but I can’t help it. I like watching handsome men, but when I watch something that full of men for a long time, I need to take several breathers😂.
