Synopsis:

What I Like
- The premise of this donghua is fairly common one. An adult on earth was transmigrated to a world of magic. Our protagonist, Dewey, choose to be lowkey tho, and prefer to spend his days as the rich noble kid. Alas, he miscalculated his ability, fell to a deserted island and need to makes a pact with a demon servant to stay alive. Unbeknownst to him, this event make him the chosen one to be Aragorn’s successor, and thus his journey begins. Although he actually doesn’t want to shoulder such responsibility.
- I like that the MC knows how to use people, items, and situation to his advantage. He’s cunning but also kind. He become strong step by step but not really overpower.
- I feel that the first few episodes are messy and I was waiting to see if it’s get better. It does get better after Dewey was kidnapped by Gandolf & embark on the adventure to obtain Aragorn’s legacy. After that, this donghua become increasingly enjoyable.
My Other Comments
- Actually this donghua is bad at introducing the protagonist. This is a problem that I found in several donghua and this one is not an exception.
- The novel has harem tag, which means the protagonist will have several wives/girlfriends. But in season 1 of this donghua he only has interest on 1 of them. Not sure how it would be in the next season.
- The MC is shown to be an adult before transmigrated, so in the story he should be in his 30s-40s (originally). But most of the time he doesn’t give “middle age person” aura to me😂. He really act like a teen.
- The power struggle part at the end is kind of come out of nowhere & some parts feels like it needs more build up and explanation.
