Synopsis:
In culturally rich Forbidden City, many adorable palace cats live what humans imagine to be an enviably carefree life. But among them, six imperial cats are anything but ordinary-they carry the sacred mission of protecting the memories of cultural relics, known as “Wuhua.”
These six guardians can enter the world of Wuhua, where they repeatedly confront and defeat the destructive force known as Black Owl, restoring order each time and safeguarding the relics’ histories. Brave, clever, and seamlessly cooperative, they form the elite unit dedicated to defending China’s national treasures-the Imperial Cat Chamber of the Forbidden City.

What I Like
- While the story is nothing to write home about, I must say the production of this donghua is good. The animation is good & the action scenes are sufficiently exciting. The cats are so cute. Although the first few episodes might be a bit confusing because they don’t really explain much about wuhua world, but you’ll soon get the gist of it.
- I love the palace cats! They’re adorable. There’s 6 cats that work as the Imperial Cat Guardians. Lu Ban and Meow Meow from civil/cultural unit and Shuangmei, Aobai, Ping’an, and Xiaozai from martial unit.
- In the season 1 of this donghua, the cats prevent the black owl from changing the history of 2 relics. The 1st half is about an ancient cup & the 2nd half is about a medicine cabinet.

My Other Comments
- Tbh it’s so sad that despite this donghua has good production, adapted from manhua & featuring cute cats, the popularity is low. Not even reaching 2000 iQiyi heat index & less than 2 million views in Bilibili. I think it deserve more.
- If the history change in wuhua world then the wuhua spirit will be dead. If wuhua spirit is dead then the historical artifact will perish. The imperial cats have to risk their life to make sure history in wuhua world still align with the history in real world. It is revealed later that whatever happen in wuhua world won’t change history in real world. But the cats can still really die in real world if they died in wuhua world.
- I still wonder why the villain want wuhua spirits to die and for the historical artifact to perish.
